i am making a motor driven robot and we are using infrared to do it how would it be possible to get it to go distance wise and get it to work

when i was in a project about robot control using infra red, i can control it up to 5-6 meter range. i only use a simple infra red circuit that little bit modified on the opamp. i use standard opamp 741, infra red and foto infra red/fototransistor and also another passif component support. that’s work on digital respons. so are you wanna to try?
